The first East African Permaculture Convergence is taking place on Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th May at Sabina school in Uganda. The convergence continues immediately after a two week permaculture design course at the same venue.
The aim of the convergence is to share best permaculture practice, inspire and explore solutions to common problems. The second day will look at creating a formal network of East African Permaculture practioners and working towards holding an International Permaculture Convergence in Africa.

Practical Information for Participants
How much does it cost?
The fee for attending the course is £50. This can be paid by bank transfer or by mobile money. Details will be sent with the invoice. This fee includes basic accomodation at the school and fresh food cooked on site.
How to get there?
Sabina School is in Ssanje,Kyotera, Uganda.
You can catch a public taxi/Matatu from central Kampala at New Tax Park. This will take you on the main road through Masaka and Kyotera. Sanje is located around 1hr and a half from Masaka town. Ask the driver to drop you off on the south side of Ssanje at the church. When you are dropped off facing the church you will see a large sign on the right, saying SABINA SCHOOL (see pictures below) The school is a short walk down the track

Where will we be staying?
There will be separate dormitories for men and women with new mattresses, sheets and mosquito nets provided. There will be private areas available for washing and access to a shower. This accomodation is on the school site and is included in the convergence fee.
This accomodation is clean but basic and is in a shared dormitory. If you would prefer to stay somewhere more comfortable and private there are some hotels in Kyotera, about 10 minutes away by public taxi or an eco lodge which is about 10 minutes away by boda boda. You will need to make your own booking if you want to use one of these options.
When should I arrive
The convergence will start at 9am, Monday 28th May. You can arrive on Sunday evening. Please don’t arrive before Sunday as we will still be accomodating the PDC participants who will be leaving on Sunday morning.
